The management platform is usually realized in a dedicated console in charge of monitoring and controlling security devices either locally or remotely. Today, a single platform is able to manage the entire IT infrastructure – from the data center, the end points, to private/public cloud deployments. Security policies manages the users, the servers, the devices, the applications, the data and the networks. Depending on your design, Management platform can be consolidated into one single platform or distributed on different consoles. In the “best of breed” approach, each vendor proposes its console. The reality is often hybrid; NGFW for standard security and distributed for vertical security domains.
